Margaret Anita Buller

Margaret Anita Buller passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at Pine Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Stevensville, MI, where she had been a resident for the past six years. Margaret was born on November 19, 1923, to Erdman and Augusta Grau in St. Joseph, Michigan. Margaret graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1941, and for many years enjoyed getting together with her former classmates for lunches.

On December 2, 1951, Margaret married Harry Buller in St. Joseph, and they enjoyed 36 years of marriage before Harry passed in 1987. They had two children, Janet and Jeffrey.

Margaret was a founding member of Peace Lutheran Church in St. Joseph.

Margaret worked for her brothers in their grocery store for many years, and also worked at Michigan Bell Telephone, Saranac Machine, and Shepherd Casters. Margaret retired in 2002 from Shepherd Casters at the age of 79.

In her spare time, Margaret enjoyed bowling, golfing, and watching sports of any kind. Margaret especially loved to watch anything her grandchildren were involved in.

Margaret is survived by her children; Janet (Wayne) Skaggs of Benton Harbor and Dr. Jeffrey (Donna) Buller of Rochester Hills, along with a stepdaughter Gayle (Larry) Adler of Hamilton. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Anita Skaggs, Jeffrey, Christopher and Shanna Buller, Mike (Nikki) and David Adler. Margaret is also survived by two sister-in-laws; Lucille Grau and Elna Grau, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brothers Albert, Otto, Herbert and Arthur.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 9:30 A.M. Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Glenn Rosenbaum and Pastor Paul Koehneke officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may visit the family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, September 12, 2014 at the funeral home.
