Ronald Leroy Jackson, 66 of St. Joseph passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 at his residence. 



Services with military honors celebrating his life will be held 5:00 pm Thursday, January 29 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma where visitation will be Wednesday from 3 to 7 pm. Cremation will take place following the service with the burial of his ashes taking place in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Ron was born September 3, 1948 in Dowagiac to James and Claire (Elbel) Jackson. He was a Disabled American Veteran serving in the Army during Vietnam. He retired in 1992 after 24 years of service from Heath Zenith where he was Union President of the United Steel Workers Local 8850. He was also a member of the American Legion, D.A.V. and Rolling Thunder. 



Ron is survived by his twin daughters Carrie (William Sr.) Fogarty of Coloma, and Mary Jackson of St. Joseph; his brother Richard (Diane) Jackson of Stevensville; sisters Rose Sturgeon and Judy Jackson both of Benton Harbor, Dorothy Jackson of Indianapolis, and Mary Pringel. He is also survived by five grandchildren; Cellie and Damien Maynor, and William Jr., Nicholas, and Paul Fogarty; several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. 



He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Robert and James.
