Dana James Telschow Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mr. Dana James Telschow, age 61, who departed this life on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, in St. Joseph, Michigan. A devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, Dana’s presence brought warmth and laughter to those who knew him.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 7, at 2:00 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Dana’s life, sharing memories of the man who meant so much to so many.

Dana was born on September 18, 1963, in Lansing, Michigan, to Ronald and Glenna (Hart) Telschow. From an early age, he embodied a strong sense of duty and adventure, qualities that led him to serve in the United States Army for twelve years. His time in the military shaped his character, and he remained forever proud of his service to his country before receiving his Honorable Discharge in 1992.

On December 20, 1996, Dana married Amy Cobe in Charlotte, Michigan. Their marriage of 28 years was filled with love, laughter, and an unbreakable bond. Together, they built a life centered around family, friendship, and the simple joys that Dana held dear.

Dana had a passion for riding his motorcycle, feeling the freedom of the open road beneath him. He enjoyed the camaraderie of a good round of golf and could often be found tinkering in his garage, working on various projects with skillful hands and a creative mind. He was a man who appreciated life’s little pleasures, whether it was spending time with loved ones, cracking a joke to make someone smile, or finding a new adventure to embark upon.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories in the hearts of those he touched. Dana is survived by his devoted wife, Amy; his five sons, Jacob (Shanell) Telschow, Robert Telschow, Tyler (Adrianna) Telschow, Dana (Lani) Telschow Jr., and Connor Telschow; and his adored grandchildren, Ashton, Evelynn, Levi, and Stella. He is also survived by his loving parents, Ron and Glenna Telschow; his siblings, Dawn (George) Bates, Cheri Bontrager, Ronda (Ron) Lemler, Michael (Heather) Telschow, and Ron (Kelly) Telschow II; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Dana was welcomed into eternity by those who went before him, including his sister, Gwen Telschow; brother-in-law, Roger Bontrager; and brother-in-law, Andrew Cobe.

Though his time on earth was far too short, Dana’s spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His laughter, kindness, and unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten.

“Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.”
