David E. Willauer Obituary
David E. Willauer, 78 of Covert passed away on May 3 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma. Private burial will take place at Crane Cemetery in Decatur. Those wishing to leave an online message for the family may do so at www.duffieldpastrick.com.
David was born June 19, 1947 in Norristown, Pennsylvania to Morris F. and Sarah E. (Young) Willauer. On June 30, 1968 he married Elizabeth “Betsy” Roosenberg. Following trade school, he was drafted into the Army as a mechanic during the Vietnam War. David then went onto working for many airline companies as a mechanic and pilot, eventually retiring from LeSEA Ministries after 30 years. Outside of work, he was very involved with Pathfinders and Youth Ministries, teaching and traveling wherever he was needed. David also enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids, being outside in nature and always tinkering with something. His best friend and canine companion Blaze was always by his side.
David is survived by his children Morris (Alison) Willauer, LaDawn (Javier) Alvarado, Darla Willauer, Adrian (Tabatha) Willauer; brothers Robert and Thomas Willauer; grandchildren Sebastian Hamman, Trevor (Winter) Willauer, Maureen Willauer, Brenden Hamman, Rhonda (Levi) Pemberton, Kevin Willauer, Alyson Alvarado, Reid Willauer, Violet Willauer and Raven Willauer; and great grandchildren Anthony Willauer, Emmaline Willauer, and Kayden Willauer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth in 2008 and his granddaughter Laura Beth Willauer.
