Elfrieda Kwek Maier Wickens Obituary

Elfrieda Kwek Maier Wickens was born on September 29, 1932 in Lodz, Poland and entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on August 3, 2026.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 8 at 2:00 pm at Napier Parkview Baptist Church, Benton Harbor, Michigan. Officiating will be Pastor Dan Golladay. Elfrieda immigrated to the United States in April 1947 and settled with her family in Detroit, Michigan.

On February 3, 1951, she married R. Owen Maier in St. Joseph, Michigan.

Elfrieda worked at National Foods for many years. She was also a Bible Study Fellowship leader. She enjoyed bowling and bowled well into her eighties.

On December 27, 1980, she married Ernest Wickens in Benton Harbor, Michigan and lived in Arizona.

She is survived by her son John (Helga) Maier of St. Joseph, Michigan, son-in-law Steve Bergman of St. Joseph, Michigan, stepsons Perry (Diane) Wickens of Fullerton, California, Mark (Joelle) Wickens of Wilmington, Delaware, 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Elfrieda in death were her parents: Julius and Alma Kwek, husbands Owen Maier and Ernest Wickens, brother Raymond Kwek, sister Gertrude Farnham and daughter Deborah Lynne Maier Bergman.
