Harold C. Ladendorf Obituary

Harold C. Ladendorf, 92, of St. Joseph, passed away, Friday, July 26, 2024 at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 14. 2024 at Galien Cemetery with Pastor Calandra Nevenzel officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by Stevensville American Legion Post #568. Memorial donations in Harold’s name may be made to VFW Post #1137 in Watervliet. Harold was born December 15, 1931 in Riverside, Michigan to Felix & Martha (Watkins) Ladendorf. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School Class of 1949. Harold enlisted in the United States Army and served his country during the Korean War. On August 7, 1954 he married the former Marion Demler at Zion United Church of Christ in Baroda. Harold was employed at DC Cook Nuclear Plant in Bridgman in the maintenance department, retiring after years of service. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in St. Joseph where he previously served as Treasurer, and an active member of VFW Post #1137. In his free-time, Harold enjoyed golfing, woodworking and hosting family & friends for his backyard fish fries. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Harold is survived by his daughter Sandra (Ken) Mattner of Arlington, TX; his son-in-law and good friend Greg Kent of St. Joseph; four grandchildren-Kenneth (Ashley) Mattner, Megan (Jeremy) Mattner-Solis, Matthew (Gil) Drews, Krista (Mike) Morris and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Marion on October 30, 2022, his daughter Pam Drews on January 17, 2024, and his sister.
