Harvey E. Deam, III, 74, of St. Joseph, went to meet his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, Monday, August 25, 2025 at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.
A Celebration of Life Eternal will be held 12:00 P.M. Saturday, September 6, 2025 at the First Church of God, 2627 Niles Ave., St. Joseph, with Rev. William Shepherd & Rev. Robert Confer officiating. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Church. Private committal services will be held at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville. Memorial donations in Harvey’s name may be made to Mid America University in Oklahoma City or First Church of God Children’s Ministry. Harvey was born November 5, 1950 in Sturgis, Michigan to Harvey E. II & Roberta Deam. He graduated from Sturgis High School, Class of 1969 and attended Gulf Coast Bible College in Texas. It was there that he met his future bride, Judy Wokeck. They were married on August 14, 1971 at First Church of God in St. Joseph. Harvey worked in sales for nineteen years at River Bend Hose in South Bend before joining the team at Martin Fluid Power in St. Joseph for eleven years. Harvey also served the congregation of Crystal Springs Church of God as Associate Pastor for nine years. He spent several years at Lowe’s in Benton Harbor, before joining Scottdale True Value where he was currently employed. Harvey was a member of First Church of God where he taught Sunday School for the Senior Adult Class and sang in the choir. He enjoyed his time singing with the Barber Shoppers and was a Lakeshore Band supporter. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Harvey is survived by his wife Judy; his children-Philip Deam of St. Joseph, Robyn (Travis) Lackey of Delta, CO, Micah (David) Lange of Stevensville; eight grandchildren-Kayla & Tara Deam, Tristian, Micah, Peggy & Tillie Lackey, Lucas & Jackson Lange; his sister Sally Deam of Three Rivers; sisters-in-law-Kim Deam of Sturgis, Jan Chapman of Stevensville, Lauren Allen of Neenah, WI; and nieces & nephews-Michelle Deam, Stephanie Deam, Dennis (Lisa) Wokeck, Kevin (Julie) Wokeck, Cheryl Beth Wokeck & Peter (Lisa) Hartz. He was preceded in death by his father Harvey II, his mother & step-father Roberta (Vern) Saddison, his granddaughter Lily Olivia Lackey, his brother David Deam, and brothers-in-law Roland (Norma) Wokeck & John Chapman.
