L. Ann Cundiff Obituary

L. Ann Cundiff, age 81, of St. Joseph, Michigan, passed away on January 3, 2025, at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. Born on April 4, 1943, in Laurence, Ohio, Ann was the daughter of the late Gladys (Strickland) and James Skelton of Springfield, Ohio. She had resided in St. Joseph since the early 1990s.

Ann was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, William (Bill), her children, Karen Bryson of Arizona and Kelly Bryson (Val) of Colorado; and three grandchildren: Elle Pearson, Alex Bryson, and Nicholas Bryson.

A woman known for her warmth and kindness, Ann always put others before herself. Her caring nature and sweet spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Above all, Ann cherished her family, and her legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, and the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ann had a deep love for gardening and bird watching, finding peace and joy in the beauty of nature. These passions brought her closer to the world around her, and she found comfort in nurturing plants and observing the wildlife that graced her home.

Throughout her life, Ann was dedicated to her community. She helped those in need, offering bookkeeping assistance and rides to church when possible. Ann was a cherished member of Fairplain Presbyterian Church in Benton Harbor, MI, where her gentle presence will be deeply missed.

A private Celebration of Life will be held in the spring of 2025 to honor Ann’s life and lasting impact on her loved ones. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Mutterly Love, 200 Kerth St, Saint Joseph, MI 49085, an organization that lovingly cared for her cherished dog, Molly, during her time in assisted living.

Ann’s memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will forever be remembered for her compassion, grace, love for nature, and the warmth she shared with everyone around her.
