Those wishing to share a memory of  Jean  may do so online at www.starksmenchinger.com.

Jean was born on July 22, 1932, in Stevensville, Michigan to Minnie Siewert.  She was one of 10 children with seven brothers (Walt, Lester, Lenord, Ernie, Alvin, Ray & Bill) and two sisters (Loretta & Eleanor) who all proceeded her in death.

Jean graduated from Stevensville High School and was Valedictorian of her class.  She attended beauty school and worked two years at a salon until she took a job at Heath Company (Zenith).  She retired after 32½ years and started a business with her husband called Ray’s Sales & Auction.  After retiring from the business, Jean & Ray found a hobby they “Deerely” loved.  They collected and showed Vintage John Deere Tractors, which people around the world came to see. They continued collecting until two years ago.

Jean is survived by her husband, Raymond Mak, who she married in 1951.  They married in St. John’s Lutheran Church of Baroda, which they are still long-time members. Along with her husband, Jean is survived by many nieces, nephews & friends, including their very good friend Mark Mckie of Bridgman.

Jean always found time for family, her love of music, birdwatching and flowers but nothing compared to her love of her husband, Ray.
