Norma Arlene DiVanni Obituary
Norma Arlene DiVanni, 92, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024 after battling cancer. Her final moments were spent peacefully in her home in St. Joseph, surrounded by family and close friends. She was given extraordinary care by nurse, Allie Woodrick, and other staff of Corewell Health South Hospice/Caring Circle.
Norma was born August 20, 1931, in Kalamazoo, MI, the daughter of Henry and Minnie Buchanan. She is survived by her daughter, Toni (Patrick) Markey of Beulah, MI; sons, Timothy (Luann) Weber of Mesa, AZ, Michael (Deborah) Weber of Poplar Bluff, MO, and Donald DiVanni of St. Joseph; and her close friends, Susanne DiVanni of Coloma, Sara Andrews of St. Joseph, Sheryl Thomas of Fair Plain and Sandy Cooper of Frankfort, MI.
Norma was the grandmother of Jason Nickol of Benzonia, MI, Christopher Weber, worldwide, Michael Weber of Asheville, NC, Nicholas Weber of Colorado Springs, CO, John Knuth of Kalamazoo, Jacob Weber of Arnold, MO, Kaitlin Yocom of Benton Harbor, Meghan DiVanni of Olympia, WA, Alison DiVanni of Jenison, MI, and Christine Walker of Poplar Bluff, MO. Norma was also a great grandmother of five. She is preceded in death by her daughter Gail, son Patrick and her sisters Mary Trump, Barbara Dill and Patricia Wilson.
Norma loved living in the St. Joseph/Benton Harbor area for most of her life. The waves of Lake Michigan and the stunning sunsets soothed her soul like no other place could.
Her ashes will be interned at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. A graveside ceremony for family and friends will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Corewell Health South Hospice/Caring Circle, www.spectrumhealthlakeland.org/caring-circle.
