Sandra L. Grooms Obituary

Sandra L. Grooms, 80, of St. Joseph, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
Born in Bangor, Michigan, Sandra was the daughter of Roy and Alberta (Borah) Penn. She graduated from Watervliet High School in 1963 and married her beloved husband, Kenneth Grooms, in Watervliet the following year. Together they had two children and sharing a devoted marriage until Kenneth’s passing in 1999. Sandra worked as a real estate agent and later owned and operated Lakeview News Agency with Kenneth.
Sandra found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed taking her daily three-mile walks and spending time reading. She especially cherished moments with her sister and her beloved cats.
She is survived by her sons, Garth (Sherry) Grooms and Brandon (Alexis Davis) Grooms; her grandson, Sebastian Davis; her step-grandson, Zacheriah Stoner; and her siblings, Merrie Stamps, Arlene (Lyle) Woodworth, and David Penn.
Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Grooms, and her siblings, Latricia Malin, Geronda Anderson, and Jerry Penn.
