Sharon Kay Ingle Obituary
So much style and grace, beautiful in all ways.
Best friend. Mother. Wife. Daughter. Sister. Aunt. Grandmother. Teacher. Mentor. Dancer. Cheerleader. Fan. Human hugger. Matriarch.
Sharon Kay Ingle, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. She was born on April 19, 1947, to Samuel and Louise (Bailey) Donoho in Centralia, Illinois.
Sharon was a devoted mom, grandma, and friend who loved spending time with her family more than anything — and her family was extensive. She had a warm heart, a strong spirit, and a caring nature that made everyone around her feel loved and supported. She loved family gatherings, watching her grandchildren grow, and making memories with the people she cared about most. She was also known for her great sense of humor, quick wit, and ability to make people laugh exactly when they needed it. She had a love for dance and theatre, and she especially enjoyed dressing up, getting her hair and eyelashes done, and spending time with the girls.
She spent 36 years as a high school English teacher and loved her coworkers, her students, and her extended family of dancers, explorers, and anyone who needed a hug or a hand up — whether they were at their lowest or celebrating their highest moments. She was always there. Sharon survived cancer twice and also overcame a brain aneurysm. She was your biggest fan and cheerleader whenever you needed her. To her family, she was simply the G.O.A.T.
Sharon loved traveling with her husband, Douglas Lee Ingle, and together they shared over 50 years of devoted marriage. They built a life full of memories, adventures, and a partnership that was an example to everyone who knew them.
Her legacy is one of love, laughter, strength, and unwavering support. She lifted people up, made everyone feel important, and showed her family what devotion truly looks like. That legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, students, and the countless lives she touched.
Sharon is survived by her loving children, Joshua (Angela) Ingle and Morgan Ingle; grandchildren, Cole Ingle, Leah Waterbury (Collin), Willis Ingle-Sorrells, Josh Ingle Jr., Kallum Ingle, and Elle Ingle; siblings, Sam Donoho, Kathy Helsham (Antony), Doug Donoho (Melissa), and Jackie Donoho; along with many nieces, nephews, and uncountable friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Louise Donoho; her beloved husband, Douglas Lee Ingle; her sister, Lissa Lutz and her niece, Nicole Bloom.
