The Studio Dance Theatre will be presenting “The Nutcracker” Saturday December 2, 2023

The “Studio Dance Theatre” is celebrating its 48th season, this year!

The SDT was founded in 1975 by Rhonda Rabbers with a three-fold purpose:
1.) To educate the serious young dancer in the field of the performing arts.
2.) To provide the community with a dance company to present concerts locally.
3.) To make an annual contribution to a local charity.
The SDT is open by audition to all experienced dancers.

The “Studio Dance Theatre” will be presenting the classic ballet, “The Nutcracker” on Saturday December 2nd at
3:00 and 7:00 p.m. at the Lakeshore Community Auditorium in Stevensville, Michigan. You won’t want to miss this
full length ballet by our Southwest Michigan pre-professional dance company!

The Nutcracker will delight young and old alike! A wonderful family story written by E.T.A.Hoffman and set to the
brilliant music of Tchaikovsky. It will fill your holiday season with magic!

This season’s charity is the The Good Fellows Fund, to help bless those in our community.

The students performing in this production, come from Three Oaks to Kalamazoo. Together as a dance family, they
are serious dancers continuing their education, while enjoying the opportunities to perform for the area. The Sugar
Plum Fairy will be Emma Zeiger , Clara will be played by Isabela Sanchez, Drosselmeyer by Dr. Kraig Kirkdorfer &
Mouse King is danced by Will Conroy. Betsy Fiesbeck plays the Dew Drop Fairy, & the Snow Queen is played by
Anna Searles, along with a wonderful cast of all ages! You will be amazed at their abilities!

The Nutcracker Ballet was first produced in St. Petersburg, Russia on December 18, 1892. Its first season was in
New York by the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo in 1940, and has now become an American tradition. Since the SDT’s
first production of “The Nutcracker” in 1981, it has grown to a full scale ballet using the entire score. Costumes and
sets have grown each year with the help of dancers and their parents volunteering time and talents to produce a
wonderful opportunity for live theatre entertainment.
