Hosts 3rd Annual 5K Run/Walk for SUICIDE Awareness
Join the Berrien County Suicide Prevention Coalition for STAY; Your Story’s Not Over 5K Run/Walk to promote suicide prevention awareness in our community. The Berrien County Suicide Prevention Coalition (BCSPC) strives to connect Berrien County residents with information and resources they need for emotional wellness, thereby helping prevent suicide.

STAY; Your Story’s Not Over 5K, is being held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, in the Village of Baroda, MI. Time: 9:00am – 12:30pm. BCSPC will be offering options to honor/remember a loved one during the race. A resource fair will also be present during the event.

Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for ages 15-34 and overall, the 10th leading cause of death in the US. In 2024 there were an estimated 2.2M suicide attempts. In Michigan 64% of communities did not have enough mental health providers to serve residents in 2023, according to federal guidelines (American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (www.afsp.org). The Berrien County Suicide Prevention Coalition has noted there are around 20 suicides each year in Berrien County.
