Anne Zebell to perform at Dowagiac Farm and Artisan Market June 10
DOWAGIAC - The Dowagiac Farm & Artisan Market is spicing things up this season, as it features acoustic music on Saturdays, beginning June 10.
Vickie Phillipson, Dowagiac Downtown Development Authority (DDA) program director, who oversees the market, said Pop singer Anne Zebell, a former Miss Dowagiac and daughter of Rosy Tomorrows' Claudia & Steve Zebell, will appear in June. In July and August, John Seculoff, financial advisor for Edward Jones, will bring his Pop and original music to the market.
"We wanted to give families on Saturday a reason to linger a bit longer, while also shopping for fresh-grown produce," Phillipson said, adding she would also like to find a food vendor to grill on site.
People interested in booth rental at the market or other opportunities that are being offered this year, should call the DDA at 782.8212. The farm & artisan market opens this Wednesday at 9 a.m. on the lawn of the Dowagiac Area History Museum. The location provides easy access and visibility to M-62, which is one of the major arteries coming into the city.
Farmers, backyard growers and local artisans can reserve space at the market, which continues through the second Saturday of October, by contacting Phillipson at (269) 782-8212 or by e-mail at Vphillipson@Dowagiac.org Space is available at the market for $10, when having your own overhead canopy. Vendors, without a canopy, can rent one from the DDA for an additional $2.
