Assault Charge in New Buffalo, MI

Amberly Gomez, 20 year old female, New Buffalo Township resident. 

            Assault with a dangerous weapon.  

     

Narrative:

Berrien County 911 Dispatch Center advised of an assault (Stabbing with a knife) being reported by St. Anthony’s Hospital that occurred at 12500 Wilson Road, New Buffalo Township.  The victim was transported to the hospital by family members.  Uniform patrol officers made contact with the victim at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Michigan City Indiana.  After making contact with the victim officers were informed that the 42 year old female victim got into a verbal argument with her 20 year old female roommate resulting in the victim being stabbed in the abdomen.  The victim did not appear to have life threatening injuries and should make a full recovery from the injury. 

 

Uniform officers followed up with this report and made contact with the suspect at the residence, information and evidence was obtained on scene that allowed uniform officers to make an arrest of the suspect for assault with a dangerous weapon and was lodged at the Berrien County Jail. 

 

A report will be forwarded to the Berrien County Prosecutors office for review on the charges.
