Chamber Young Professionals Give Back to Benton Harbor
with Community Clean-Up Event
The Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber's NextGen young professionals program took a break from the office to give back to the Benton Harbor community. Sponsored by Prairie Real Estate Group, this inaugural event marked the beginning of their commitment to community service. The day's activities focused on a community clean-up, with volunteers working together to beautify local parks and streets.
“NextGen brings young professionals together, offering them chances to network, discover new places, and access exclusive professional development opportunities,” said Jasmine Hansen, Membership Engagement Manager of the Regional Chamber. “These experiences frequently result in business collaborations, mentorships, and career growth, and we’re excited to develop opportunities to give back to the community as well.”
“It is remarkable what a significant impact we can achieve when we come together and demonstrate pride in the community where we live, work, and play,” said Trevor Carlson, Property Director of Prairie Real Estate Group and NextGen Board Member. “By participating in events like these, we strengthen our community bonds, promote a sense of shared responsibility, and contribute to a cleaner, more vibrant Benton Harbor.”
Rich Hensel, President of the Benton Harbor Downtown Development Authority (DDA), praised the initiative: “The NextGen team's efforts have significantly enhanced the beauty and image of Downtown Benton Harbor. We are grateful for their contribution and look forward to seeing how they will continue to improve our community.”
