Church Women United will be celebrating it's 95th Annual State Assembly.
Unit 5 will be hosting the assembly consisting of Benton Harbor-St. Joseph, Kalamazoo, Jackson, and Detroit, April 11-13, 2024 at the Inn at Harbor Shores, St. Joseph.
History and Purpose of Church Women United
Since 1941 Women of the CWU movement have held vision of Christian unity that was founded as a racially, culturally, theologically, inclusive Christians women movement to celebrate unity and diversity and work for peace in the world.
Our Vision Statement: Women of faith cultivating love, hope, and peace for all creation.
Our Core Values: Faith, Service, Education, Advocacy, Diversity, and Social Justice.
Theme: "Agree to Differ, Resolved to Love, United to Serve"
The three day event will consist of ice breakers, Scripture readings, music, devotions, bible study, health & wellness, a memorial service, guest speakers, a presentation from students of Benton Harbor, raffles, 4 Love Boxes for collecting books for children K-12, food snacks for children's back packs to be distributed in the four host Unit 5 cities, various vendors (jewelry, homemade items, etc.), and door prizes.
Presentation of this years Valiant Women for who has given service to Church Women United, her church and her community. She may or may not be an actual leader, but is always someone who leads by example. A valiant women is a woman who lives the Gospel message in her every day life.
