Candidate Announces Candidacy for Benton Harbor City Commissioner-At-Large
Deidre Fields, a long-time Benton Harbor resident, community advocate, and passionate servant leader, has officially announced her candidacy for Benton Harbor City Commissioner-At-Large in the upcoming election.
With a strong commitment to public service and a heart for people, Fields is running on a platform of Accountability, Accessibility, and Action. She brings with her years of experience working alongside community organizations, neighborhood leaders, and youth mentorship programs—always with the goal of building a better Benton Harbor for all.
“I believe Benton Harbor deserves a transparent and responsive government, one that listens, learns, and leads with the people in mind. I’m running because I believe together, we can restore trust and build a city that works for everyone.”
If elected, Fields plans to focus on:
- Economic opportunity and job growth through small business support and workforce development.
- Public safety and community trust through collaboration and transparency with law enforcement.
- Youth empowerment by investing in educational partnerships, safe spaces, and mentorship.
- Infrastructure improvement and clean neighborhoods through consistent city services and resident engagement.
Fields will be hosting a campaign kickoff event soon, where she will meet with residents, share her vision, and hear directly from the community.
