Dr. Jean Macajoux, DDS, joins CFC’s Cassopolis dental team
Cass Family Clinic has appointed a new dentist, Dr. Jean Macajoux, DDS, to join its Cassopolis location.
After earning a degree in biochemistry, the New York native became interested in dentistry while participating in a volunteer outreach program at a dental public care center. Macajoux went on to receive his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry in 1991.
Before joining Cass Family Clinic, he worked in dental centers in Miami, Florida, serving as vice president of dental services at Jessie Trice Community Health System for seven years and the residency program director at Community Smiles Dental Clinic for 10 years.
“At this stage in my career, I was looking for a place where I could continue doing meaningful work in a setting that’s stable, focused, and centered on patient care,” said Macajoux, who moved to Michigan a few years ago. “That’s what I found here at Cass Family Clinic.”
In addition to his daily dental clinic responsibilities, Macajoux works one-on-one with the University of Michigan dental students who are training at Cass Family Clinic’s Cassopolis location, providing them with hands-on dental clinic experience.
“Good dental care is not necessarily the most expensive dental care,” said Macajoux. “It’s care that gives patients options, helps them protect what they have, and teaches them how to maintain their health. It should be accessible, responsive, and affordable.”
