Drowning in Eau Claire (Bainbridge Twp)

The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department was called to 2380 Michael Rd for a person in a pond pinned underneath a riding lawn tractor. Deputies arrived and learned that the victim was identified as 66 year old Linda Marutz. Linda Marutz was mowing the lawn next to the pond when she accidently drove the lawn tractor into the pond causing it to roll on top of her. Linda Marutz was not able to free herself from underneath the tractor. Pride Care Ambulance also responded to assist with this incident. At this time this case remains under investigation with the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department.
