Eau Claire to help Flint

Eau Claire, MI - Eau Claire Public Schools is doing its part to help those in need of clean water in Flint, Michigan.   As most are aware, it is unsafe for residents of Flint to drink their tap water due to lead contamination.  Clean water has become a scarce commodity in the city.Chad Medlin, a graduate from Eau Claire High School, decided to collect water donations to take over to Flint.  He put a post on Facebook and before long, word spread throughout Eau Claire and soon the school rallied to help in Medlin’s efforts.“Just thinking about families not having clean water to drink, cook, or even brush their teeth, made me want to do something to help.” Medlin explained.  “I think it’s great that my alma mater is jumping on board with the cause."Shane Lausch, High School Principal at Eau Claire, decided to let bottled water be an acceptable form of payment to enter home games.“If you’re coming to a home game in Eau Claire, you can buy a ticket or donate a case of water to get in,” stated Lausch.  In addition, the school is having a contest to see which class can bring in the most donations.  The winning class will get an ice cream party.The public is invited to get involved as well.  Even if you don’t want to go to a game, you can drop off cases of bottled water at the Eau Claire High School at 7450 Hochberger Road in Eau Claire.
