Fatal hit and run in Benton Harbor

On 09/19/2017 at 8:35PM, Officers of the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety responded to a call of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle near the intersection of Main Street and Fair Avenue. Officers arrived to find an 18 year old male had been struck by a motor vehicle. The young man was taken by Medic 1 Ambulance to Lakeland Hospital where he succumb to his injuries.

The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department was requested to assist with the investigation for reconstruction purposes.

The names are withheld pending family notification and investigation purposes. The investigation is ongoing.

BHDPS officers were assisted by the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department.
