First Live Music Event at The Loading Dock in Buchanan
First Live Music Event at The Loading Dock Brings The Newport Prairie Project to Buchanan’s Renovated Clark Building
New Buchanan venue in the former Clark Equipment building launches live music with a ticketed roots rock and electric blues concert
The Newport Prairie Project will perform the first live music event at The Loading Dock in Buchanan on Sunday, May 31, at 6:00 PM, marking a new chapter for one of downtown Buchanan’s most recognizable industrial landmarks.
Located in the renovated former Clark Equipment building, The Loading Dock is emerging as a new event and gathering space for Buchanan and the surrounding region. Sunday’s concert offers the public a first look at the venue as it begins to host live music, community gatherings, private events, and cultural programming.
The Newport Prairie Project, a regional five-piece band known for its blend of alt-country roots rock and authentic Chicago-style electric blues, will perform two sets with a break. The evening is being promoted as both a concert and a summer kickoff for downtown Buchanan.
“This is more than just another gig for us,” said Bill Bielby of The Newport Prairie Project. “It’s a chance to help introduce a beautiful new Buchanan venue and to bring live music into a building that already means a great deal to this community.”
The Loading Dock team will offer light food, pie, mocktails, soda, water, and elevated concession-style snacks during the evening, along with special opening-night hospitality for guests at check-in.
