Frederick S. Upton Foundation Announces Summer Grant Deadline
Local organizations looking for funding to make an impact should mark their calendars — the Frederick S. Upton Foundation’s summer 2026 grant cycle is officially open, with applications due June 15, 2026.
With a long‑standing commitment to helping Berrien County thrive, the Upton Foundation encourages organizations to work together to strengthen both the local economy and culture. Grant requests are welcomed from a wide range of partners, including nonprofit organizations, government agencies, religious organizations and schools.
Organizations may apply in multiple grant cycles but may only receive one Upton Foundation grant per calendar year. To get started, request access to the application by emailing uptonfoundation@berriencommunity.org or call Berrien Community Foundation at (269) 983‑3304.
Founded in 1954 by Frederick S. Upton and Margaret B. Upton, the Upton Foundation was built on the idea to love and lead your community. Frederick S. Upton — one of the founders of Whirlpool Corporation — was known for his deep roots in Berrien County and his lifelong dedication to giving back. For generations, the Upton family has continued that legacy, quietly fueling the work of nonprofit organizations and agencies that make the community stronger.
The summer grant cycle is the second of three opportunities offered. The final round of funding will have a deadline of October 15, 2026.
