Growing in Grace Conference Set for March 21 in St. Joseph
Southwestern Medical Clinic, a Lakeland Health Affiliate, will present a community wellness conference from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, at the Chapel, 4250 Washington Avenue, St. Joseph. St. Joseph native Linda Mintle, PhD, will serve as the keynote speaker for the event. Dr. Mintle is a licensed marriage and family therapist, clinical social worker, professor, bestselling author, and national speaker. She will cover topics from her latest book “We Need to Talk: How to Successfully Navigate Conflict in our Relationships” at the conference. Workshops will focus on strengthening your interpersonal relationships while delivering practical skills for everyday life. Presenters will include local counselors from Southwestern Medical Clinic’s Christian Counseling and Psychological Services. Workshops will include: • Anxiety: Too Much Energy in Your System and How to Deal with It, presented by Marcia Wiinamaki, PsyD • Building Grace-Filled Communication in Marriage, presented by Brittany Sommers, BA in Psychology, and Kara Youngblood, MA, LLPC • Choosing Joy, presented by Mary Andres, MA, LPC, and Rich Watson, MA, LPC, LLP • Finding Laughter in Everyday Life, presented by Brad Wilson, PhD candidate, and Mary Andres, MA, LPC • Loosening the Grip of Codependency and Finding Yourself, presented by Kristen Hunsberger, MA, LPC • Resolving Conflict Within Your Self, presented by Flori Mejeur, MSW, LMSW, and Kris Petlick, MA, LLP • What is Depression & Bipolar? Diagnosis and Treatment, presented by Marcia Wiinamaki, PsyD, and Rich Watson, MA, LPC, LLP Pre-registration is required by March 16. Registration is $25 and includes the entire conference and lunch.
