Public Art Initiative

As the growth and development in the Village of Baroda continues, so is the continuation of more public art displays!

The wave of public art began back in December, 2016 with the sculpture (Exhausted) which is located in front of the Village and Township offices in downtown Baroda. The Baroda Area Business Association’s Board has continued to seek out artists to further the initiative.

They were introduced to Olga Orlovska-Soaltys. Olga is a Ukrainian born artist. She currently lives in St. Joseph. She received her Master of Art degree at Lviv National Academy of Art, Ukraine and majored in Textile Design and Decoration. Olga has taught various art classes at Buchanan Art Center, and has also worked as an Art Instructor at UW Marinette Continuing Education.

Her work in different techniques includes the following: Reverse painting on glass, graphic (pen and ink), oil, acrylic, silk painting, and Ukrainian Easter eggs

The art will reside in the window store-front space of Dr. Chris Shier’s building, located at 8986 First St. in downtown Baroda. The next piece of art will be installed before the summer season begins!
