Shooting on Ogden St.

On Wednesday, 01/17/2018 Officers of the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety responded 28 year old city resident who had been fired upon while driving south in the 1100 block of Ogden.

The victim stated that while he was driving south on Ogden, he observed two males in the street, dressed in black and wearing masks. The victim stated that he stopped to allow the males to cross the street. At this point one of the males presented a weapon and said something that the victim couldn’t understand. The victim, attempting to flee for safety accelerated and drove away at a high rate of speed. The male with the gun fired several times striking the vehicle and a few of the rounds were near misses to the victim. The males fled the area as the victim sought safety and police assistance.

Officers processed the scene on Ogden, locating evidence of the incident. A K9 track was conducted but was unable to locate the suspects.

BHDPS officers were assisted by the Michigan State Police Major Crimes Unit and Berrien County Sheriff’s Department.
