South Bend Record Show expands with the inaugural Summer Bash
One of the Midwest's largest record shows is expanding beyond the record bins.
For the first time, For The Record Vinyl is combining its traditional early- and late-summer shows into one larger event, creating the inaugural South Bend Record Show Summer Bash on Sunday, July 12. The new format replaces the show’s separate June and August editions with one midsummer celebration.
Summer Bash adds live DJs, outdoor music vendors, food trucks, live screen printing, and a cash bar while maintaining the record-buying experience collectors have come to expect. Nearly 45 vendors from six states will fill 110 tables with more than 100,000 new and pre-loved LPs, 45s, CDs, cassettes, vintage stereo gear, posters, record supplies and music-related merchandise.
The outdoor patio will be transformed into a gathering space featuring music throughout the day from Bro Gro DJs, live screen printing by Eric Wilson, artists, handmade goods, and more. Visitors can also browse Hinterland Bookery, an independent mobile bookstore, and enjoy food from Memo's Mexican Grill and Rulli's On Wheels.
"When people come to the South Bend Record Show, we want them to feel like they're stepping into a celebration of music," event organizer Jeremy D. Bonfiglio said. "The records are still the centerpiece, but Summer Bash adds everything around them: great food, great people, live DJs, artists, and a fun outdoor atmosphere. We wanted to create an event where people don't just stop by for an hour. They come to discover something new, spend time with friends, and make a day of it."
Guests can also enjoy a cash bar and door prize drawings at noon and 2 p.m. featuring products from BCW Supplies, GrooveWasher and shopping certificates.
