Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra Presents Peter and the Wolf

Share and create childhood memories with a live performance of Peter and the Wolf on Saturday, July 27 at Shadowland Ballroom in the Silver Beach Event Center, located at 333 Broad Street, St. Joseph.

Take your kids on a musical adventure with Peter and his companions: a bird with flute-song, an oboe-waddling duck, a clarinet-crafty cat, and their run-in with a shadowy wolf, hinted at by ominous horns! Sergei Prokofiev's timeless classic is perfect for young ears and music lovers!

Joining the ranks of famous narrators like Boris Karloff, David Bowie, and David Attenborough special guest and local celebrity Carol Sizer of Twin City Players and the GhostLight Theatre fame will guide attendees through this enchanting tale.

This whimsical performance introduces young listeners to classical music as they learn how to recognize the distinct sounds produced by various instruments of the orchestra. Choose from two showings: 2:00 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. Total runtime is 30 minutes.

A hands-on Instrument Petting Zoo will be available before and after concert show times courtesy of the Citadel Dance & Music Center, and concert attendees will receive complimentary tokens to enjoy the Silver Beach Carousel! A nearby splash pad, beach, downtown shops and restaurants guarantee a fabulous outing.

Tickets for each performance are limited so reserve your seats now! Pricing: Adults $30; Youth ages 6-17 $10; Children ages 5 and under are $5. One free parking pass to access Silver Beach Event Center parking for use during the concert is included with each family ticket order while passes are available.
