St. Joseph High School Orchestra to Compete in National Orchestra Festival
2024 National Orchestra Festival in Louisville, KY
The St. Joseph High School Chamber Orchestra is set to embark on a musical adventure as they participate in the National Orchestra Festival (NOF) in Louisville on March 22, 2024. This prestigious event, part of the American String Teachers Association annual conference, gathers select middle and high school orchestras from across the nation, offering them a platform to showcase their talents and learn from esteemed clinicians.
The NOF is an opportunity for orchestras seeking to elevate their performance experience and gain national recognition. Participants will have the chance to receive feedback from expert adjudicators through personalized written and recorded comments. Moreover, they'll engage in a post-performance clinic tailored specifically for their orchestra, led by a leading clinician in the strings community.
"This trip to the National Orchestra Festival signifies a culmination of hard work and dedication by our talented students," said Burke Lokey, Director of the Chamber Orchestra. "We're thrilled to be a part of this prestigious event, where we'll not only perform on a national stage but also learn from some of the best minds in the industry."
"This isn't just about competition; it's about fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among young musicians," added Rachel Cabanilla-Sinnett, a guest conductor for the performance. "We're eager to build lasting relationships with each other and orchestras from across the country."
