The Therapeutic Equestrian Center (TEC) is offering Volunteer Training's WE NEED YOU!
The Therapeutic Equestrian Center is seeking volunteers to assist with their programs. TEC has both weekly and occasional volunteer opportunities available. Anyone interested can sign up for the one or both of the upcoming volunteer training's.
Volunteer Training's will be offered before the start of the Spring Session for anyone age 14 and up:
· Volunteer Training Part 1 on Tuesday, March 26, 2015 from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm– Get the opportunity to learn about TEC, therapeutic riding, and available volunteer opportunities. New volunteers are encouraged to attend.
· Volunteer Training Part 2 on Wednesday, March 27, 2015 from 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm – Take advantage of hands on training for those who want to help with TEC’s therapeutic riding lessons as Sidewalkers and/or Leaders.
Both training's will be held at the TEC barn located at 615 N. M-140 in Watervliet, MI. Take advantage of this spring weather, after all, it's great exercise to get ready for swimsuit weather.
Did you know it can take up to three volunteers to help with one rider? Our TEC sessions usually run with 3-4 riders so without our great volunteers we wouldn't be able to provide this great service to our riders. Come join a great team.
If you would like to join a great team of volunteers and help special need riders sign up for one of these training's, please email volunteer@tecfarm.org or call 269-429-0671.
TEC’s services the special need communities of Berrien, Cass and Van Buren Counties. But riders are not the only ones who benefit. “The experience I have had as a volunteer has been so positive, the people here are so amazing in what they do to help others” said, Sue Ann S. a fellow TEC volunteer.
The Therapeutic Equestrian Center (TEC) is a non-profit 501(c)3 that was founded in 2005. TEC provides year-round therapeutic horseback riding as well as other equine assisted activities to individuals with special needs. TEC collaborates with Blossomland Learning Center, a local school, to provide Saddle STARS, a school based program using horses as a theme. These programs are possible because of TEC’s team of dedicated volunteers.
