Twin City Players Presents
A Measure of Cruelty

February 21 & 22, 2025

Twin City Players announces a Second Stage production of A Measure of Cruelty by Joe Calarco which is TCP’s entry in the Michigan AACTFest in Bay City, Michigan.

The production is a 60-minute version of the play that includes a 10-minute setup and tear down per AACTFest requirements. There will also be a talk back with the cast.

The play follows Buddy, a recently discharged, traumatized veteran from the war in Afghanistan, who comes to work in his father’s bar while he nurses wounds both physical and psychological. When father and son become entangled in a local, horrifying crime of bullying, they, and one of the perpetrators, are forced to confront each other, themselves, and the dangerous, antiquated, but still potent, definitions of masculinity they all inherited. Audience Guidance: Adult themes, violence, bullying, adult language.
