What: |
Whirlpool Corporation will partner with Mosaic CCDA to create a hands-on career exploration experience for Benton Harbor High School's Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates (JMG) youth. This event is one of several planned as part of the 2024/2025 Whirlpool Mentorship Program. During this experience, JMG students will collaborate with Whirlpool mentors, Mosaic staff and volunteers to learn skills including project management, retail merchandising, selling, customer service, and more. The program has served 100+ JMG students from Benton Harbor High School over four consecutive years. Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates, the premier program of Youth Solutions, is a comprehensive program for youth in and out of schools, providing them with the skills and knowledge needed to make educated decisions about their futures, all while helping them overcome individual barriers. Mosaic CCDA is a Benton Harbor based non-profit dedicated to creating lasting change through job training, entrepreneur development and helping community members meet their basic needs. Their programs and partnerships include Mosaic Resale, Career Pathway Institute, Emerge Innovation Hub, Wonderland Toy Store, Court Referral Services and 100 Women Strong. Mosaic is an important site for community members to obtain (free) fresh, healthy food via Whirlpool’s Feel Good Fridge program. |
