“Albemarle Presents Check for $10,000 to Al-Van Humane Society”
Local Animal Welfare Organization Receives Generous Check for $10,000 as part of Paws on Parade

South Haven, MI – December 1, 2014 – Albemarle, a leading producer of catalyst solutions and
performance chemicals, presented Al-Van Humane Society with a $10,000 check for the title sponsorship of Al-Van Humane Society’s Paws on Parade, as well as a general donation to the South Haven animalshelter. “We are pleased to be able to present this check to Al-Van Humane Society, whose mission is to provideshelter and find adoptive homes to our communities’ stray and abandoned animals,” stated Albemarle’s Phil Kenreich. “As a company that focuses on creating solutions that meet society’s needs in over 100 countries, we are happy to help a local organization in creating programs and services that meet the needs of the animals and residents of Van Buren and Allegan Counties.” “We want to thank Albemarle for their continued support of Al-Van and for partnering with us on Paws on Parade, which is a critical fundraising event for the shelter as well as a fun community event,” added Al-Van Humane Society’s Board President Lisa Galdikas. Al-Van will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Paws on Parade on Sunday June 28, 2015 scheduled to take place at Riverfront Park near the South Pier. “We look forward to our continued partnership with Albemarle as we make plans for this fun and informational event for our community and their pets to enjoy, added Galdikas.”

About the Al-Van Humane Society Founded in 1968, Al-Van Humane Society (AVHS) is a non-profit
animal welfare organization dedicated to providing emergency food and shelter for homeless pets. It is an independent and private, 501c3 non-profit organization. In 2012, the Michigan Pet Fund Alliance awarded AVHS the Most Improved Open Admission Shelter. The shelter is located on 8th Avenue in South Haven, Michigan.
