Arrest Made Following Search Warrant Execution in Benton Township

Blossom Acres Apartments

On 7/30/2025, the Southwest Enforcement Team- West Office (SWET West), MSP Canine Unit, and members of the Berrien County Tactical Response Unit (TRU), served a search warrant inside the Blossom Acres Apartments in Benton Township. While making entry, the suspect refused to comply with lawful commands and threw an object into the wooded area near his apartment. After the suspect was arrested, the MSP Canine Trooper and his service partner located the object thrown and it was found to be a box containing approximately 90 grams of fentanyl. The investigation which led to the search warrant focused on the suspect’s trafficking of fentanyl in the Benton Harbor area. The 36-year-old suspect from Benton Township was released from parole earlier this month after serving time from prior fentanyl trafficking convictions. The suspect was lodged at the Berrien County Jail on 7/30/2025 for the following charges:

    • Possession with intent to deliver over 50 grams of fentanyl, 2nd offense
    • Maintaining a drug house, 2nd offense
    • Evidence tampering
    • Resisting/obstructing police
