CRIME STOPPERS CRIME OF THE WEEK

This is D/Sgt. Fred Laesch of the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department for Crime Stoppers.  The crime of the week comes from the files of the Coloma Township Police Department.

On March 1, 2014 at approximately 5:30 PM, the Coloma Twp. PD responded to the Handy Spot convenience store located at 5514 Paw Paw Lake Rd., Coloma Twp. in regards to an unarmed robbery.  The victim got out of a vehicle holding her purse when an unknown suspect approached from behind and struggled with the victim over the purse until the suspect pulled it away from the victim.  The purse was later retrieved with a wallet missing, behind a dumpster at the business.  The wallet was later recovered along Johnson Rd., in Coloma Twp.  After the incident, the suspect fled in an older black four door vehicle with a spoiler that was last seen northbound on Johnson Rd. from Paw Paw Lake Rd.The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6’, 150-160 lbs., unknown eye or hair color, and was wearing a plain black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and tennis shoes.
