Dylan Jeffrey Elkins Obituary

Senior Airman Dylan Jeffrey Elkins, 24, of Little Rock, AR, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026. Born on August 29, 2001, in South Bend, Dylan grew up with a kind heart, a quick wit, and a wonderful sense of humor. He attended St. Joseph High School and later graduated from Richland High School in Washington State before proudly enlisting in the United States Air Force.

Dylan was an intelligent, thoughtful, and genuinely caring young man who made friends wherever he went. He loved music, the outdoors, and especially fishing. Above all, Dylan’s selfless generosity and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He is survived by his mother, Rebecca (Richard) Wynegar; his father, Shawn Elkins; his brothers, Gavin Wynegar, Mason Wynegar, and Brandon Elkins; and his maternal grandfather, LeeRoy Stelter. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Ann Stelter, and paternal grandparents, Jeffrey and Bobbette Elkins.

Visitation is Friday, June 26, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, June 27, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 619 Main St., St. Joseph, MI, with Pastor Michael J. Roth officiating. Burial with full U.S. Air Force military honors will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph, MI.
