Martin Wayne Hendrichsen Obituary

Martin Wayne Hendrichsen, known to family and friends as Marty, passed away in his home during the afternoon of June 16th at the age of 62. He married his high school sweetheart Vickie Elliott in 1991 and never remarried after her death in 2020. He is survived by his two adult children, son Joshua (Levi) and daughter Danielle (Danni), and two brothers, Kerry and Randy Hendrichsen. All of whom loved him beyond words.

Martin grew up in the Comstock area for most of his life making a large group of friends throughout and roots that grew deep in southwest Michigan. He spent most of his working career for Georgia Pacific taking care of and operating printing machines. He enjoyed his work, and it brought him much fulfillment until he could do it no longer.

Kindness, constant jokes and a love for music spread through every person he came into contact with. The type of man who would cry during a Disney movie but be ready to fight when his family was in trouble. He had a soft spot for animals and now leaves behind his trusted feline companion Rosco, a polydactyl tabby.

Martin also showed gifts in auto mechanics and art. Giving up the later in life, he still pursued automobile mechanics to a fault. He always believed there would be more time for the next projects.
He believed in a Christian God and his family hopes he is now with his wife and parents. What a glorious reunion for all of them.

Marty also believed in helping those who needed it. He extended charity and understanding like an overflowing river of compassion. He will be missed but never forgotten, especially by those who loved him most. Martin wouldn't want tears of sadness but a loud, blaring, recital of classic rock music played until the windows shook followed by a shot of whiskey. Please do not mourn for a soul liberated and truly free. Rejoice in laughter and music in his honor.
