Monica S. Jungblut Obituary
Monica S. Jungblut, 61, of Stevensville, went to meet her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.
A Celebration of Life Eternal will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 16, 2026 at First Church of God, 2627 Niles Ave., St. Joseph, with Rev. Bill Shepherd & Rev. David Colp officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may visit with the Family from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Monica was born June 11, 1965, in York, Nebraska to Rev. Oscar & Helga Berzins. After moving to St. Joseph, she graduated from St. Joseph High School, Class of 1983, attended Warner Southern College in Florida, and graduated from Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana with a Bachelor Degree in computer science. On February 22, 1992, she married Helmut Jungblut at Washington Ave. Church of God with her Father officiating. Monica was employed for ten years at Digital Interface Systems in Benton Harbor, for ten years at Zion Church in St. Joseph before gaining employment at First Church of God as their bookkeeper where she was currently employed. Monica was an active member of First Church of God where she served as a greeter and with the children’s ministries. In her free time, Monica enjoyed reading, but most of all, the time spent with her Family and many friends.
Monica is survived by her husband Helmut; two sons-James (Sarah) Jungblut of Kalamazoo, Jacob Jungblut of Stevensville; her mother Helga Berzins of St. Joseph; two brothers-Gerald (Elfi) Berzins of Stevensville, Ronald (Shannon) Berzins of St. Louis, MO; her mother-in-law Meta Jungblut of Stevensville; sisters-in-law-Edith (Harold) Herbstreit & Astrid (David) Meier; nieces & nephews-Ryan (Samantha) Berzins, Rachel Berzins, Michael, Taylor, Dylan & Daniel Berzins, Heidi (John) Brown, Deanna (Nate) Main, Ben (Evelyn) Herbstreit, Jonathan (Brittany) Meier & Kristina (Richard) Reid. She was preceded in death by her father Rev. Oscar Berzins and her father-in-law Witold Jungblut.
