Robert E. Molter Obituary

Robert E. Molter, 88, formerly of Coloma, passed away Friday, June 19, 2026 at his residence in St. Joseph.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 1st at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma with burial following at Coloma Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. two hours prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of SW Michigan. Bob was born August 11, 1937 in Coloma, Michigan to George and Gladys Molter. Following his graduation from Coloma High School, he served his country in the United States Navy for three years. After his discharge, Bob became an independent truck driver, contracting with numerous companies. Later in life, Bob made a career change and began produce farming which he continued for many years prior to his decision to retire. At that point, Bob and his wife Hildegard traveled extensively across the country. They enjoyed camping as well as spending their winters in Sebring, Florida.

Bob is survived by his children, Robert (Kim) Molter Jr. of Charlevoix, MI, George (Dina) Molter of Paw Paw, Gina (Patrick) O’Brien of Benton Harbor, Lisa (Lindy) Dolezan of Benton Harbor, Donna (Jim) Strouse of Stevensville, Dana (Chris) Nosich of Sister Lakes, and Peter (Natalie) Molter of Hartford; step-children Robert (Debbie) Martin of Murfreesboro, TN, Julie Wuerfel of St. Joseph, Chris Martin of Paris, TN, and Kelley (Jim) Vigrass of Ypsilanti; his sister Judy (John) Morse of Jones, MI; eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Hildegard in 2023; sisters Barbara Kasischke and Linda Gorske; two grandchildren, Bret Hawblitzel and Katie Martin; and his great-granddaughter Lucille DeYoung.
