Suzanne Carol McRae Obituary

Suzanne Carol McRae, 86, of Marietta, GA passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.

Sue was born on December 26, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan. She was born to Beatrice Havens and Deane Elsea. She graduated from Cooley High School and attended University of Cincinnati.

Sue met the love of her life, Blair McRae, in high school and started dating when they were 14. The two were married on September 2, 1961. She worked as an executive secretary for Lee Iacocca at General Motors until they moved to Cincinnati, Dublin, OH, and Pittsburgh to raise their three sons. After the boys were grown, she started her interior design business in Pittsburgh and Chicago.

Sue and Blair moved many times during their marriage, gaining life-long friends in each place. She enjoyed attending her kids’ sporting events and volunteering in her communities. Sue had a wicked sense of humor, and we were all lucky to laugh with her. Her grandchildren can attest to the fact that she made every holiday magical.

Sue is survived by her three sons, Scott (Maureen), Mike, and Matt (Tricia); her grandchildren, Jameson (Nicole), Haley, Kelly (Dipan), Katie, and Maggie; her great granddaughter, Blaire; her brother, Bill (Gloria) Elsea; and her sister-in-law, Sue Elsea.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Blair; her parents; her brother, Jon Elsea; her aunt, Gertrude Havens; and her grandmother, Agnes McIntosh.

A Funeral Mass will be held at a later date in Olean, New York where Sue spent summers with her cousins when she was young.
