Traffic crash with injury in Berrien Springs

A 71 yr old Benton Harbor resident suffered some sort of health problem that led to his GMC pickup to leave the roadway and crash into a utility pole snapping it off.  The crash damaged a second pole as well and snapped power lines in the area causing a black out for a portion of the Berrien Springs area.

The north bound pickup continued to roll across the lawn at Berrien County RESA where it came to rest against the RESA building. 

The driver was taken to Lakeland St. Joseph ER for minor injuries sustained in the crash and for the medical condition suffered while driving. 

Traffic was detoured for almost two hours.  As of this release time the power is still out in that area.
