Patricia Lynn Ricks Obituary
Patricia Lynn Ricks, 77, of Charlevoix, MI passed away Monday, October 12, 2026, at Story Point Assisted Living in St. Joseph.
Patricia was born on March 5, 1949, in Detroit, MI, to Claude and Vivian Donna (Rutledge) Bracy. She graduated from Dondero High School in Royal Oak, MI, and went on to attend Western Michigan University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in education. On June 23, 1973, she married the love of her life Jeffery Ricks in Birmingham, MI.
Patricia embraced one of her most important roles as a devoted mother, staying home to raise her five children while also helping her husband build and run his chiropractic business. After her children were grown she chose to step back into the role of educator at Charlevoix Middle School. Jeff and Patricia raised their children to love our Lord Jesus Christ as members of the Community Reformed Church.
Patricia was an avid reader who loved taking long walks along the beach and collecting sand dollars. She enjoyed an active lifestyle, often cycling 20 to 50 miles at a time, running, and competing in races. Above all, Patricia treasured her family, who meant the world to her. She found joy in being together, sharing time and making memories with those she loved most. Her love and devotion to her family were an important part of who she was, and the time they shared will always be cherished.
Patricia is survived by her step-mother Joan Bracy; children Kristen (Timothy) McClure, Claudia (Todd) Zarotney, Jennifer (Kevin) Kosten, Michael Ricks and Kathryn (Keith) Marks; 16 grandchildren Elijah, Benjamin, Samuel, Lillian, Joseph, Patrick, Kaleb, Caroline, Matthew, Evelyn, Isaac, Tyler, Emily, Parker, Asher and Layla; brother Robert (Patsy) Bracy; and many nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Donald Bracy.
