Eldon Keehn Obituary
Eldon Keehn, 95, of Stevensville, MI passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, MI. He was born June 23, 1931 in North Judson, Indiana to Hugo and Ethel (Tetzloff) Keehn.
After graduating from Wanatah High School, Eldon played one season of baseball with the Chicago Cubs minor league team in Janesville, Wisconsin. Before he could begin his second season, he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, Eldon attended and graduated from Valparaiso University with a degree in Business.
Eldon married Phyllis Lawler on October 26, 1956, in Valparaiso, Indiana, and they shared 69 wonderful years of marriage together. During his working years, he was employed by Campbell Soup and APV Baker, holding various positions and living in several locations due to work transfers. After retirement, Eldon and Phyllis made their home in Frankenmuth, Michigan, before later relocating to St. Joseph to be closer to family. In his free time, Eldon especially enjoyed playing golf with his son and watching baseball, two pastimes that brought him great enjoyment throughout his life.
Visitation will be held at 10am until time of celebration of life service at 11am, Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Christ Lutheran Church, 4333 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville. A private burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph on Monday, August 24, 2026. Arrangements entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel (269)556-9450. Eldon is survived by his wife, Phylllis; his son, Jeffrey (Anneliese) Keehn; his daughter, Kristin Cournoyer; his grandchildren, Cory (Julie) Keehn, Pamela Keehn, Jason (April) Cournoyer, Jill Forrester, Jenny Cournoyer, and Kelley Erickson; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents.
