Her devoted family announce that Dr. Maxine Stock passed away peacefully 16 August 2026 in St. Joe.

Born on 17 June 1933 in Berrien Springs, Maxine was a talented artist and gifted teacher as well as a respected member of her community. She studied at Andrews University toward a fine arts degree in ceramics and painting, then went on to be the first woman to be accepted into the Notre Dame MFA program in sculpture, graduating in 1975.

Her loving positive nature and powerful spiritual presence will remain with us always and continue to be cherished by her children – Melissa, Allen, and Eliza, as well as her much loved grandchildren – Talia, Dylan, and Andy. Maxine was preceded in death by her youngest son – Kristopher, and her former husband – Allen Neil Kimmerly.

A deeply committed member of the Bahai Faith for nearly 60 years, her private prayer service will be held on August 18, 2026.
