Mr. Dean A. Boyd Obituary

Mr. Dean A. Boyd, age 88, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026 in Douglas, MI.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 27 at 4:00 pm at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, from 3:00 – 4:00 pm. Please feel free to visit Dean’s online guestbook at www.starks-menchinger.com.

Dean was born on January 29, 1938 to William and Jesteena (Waters) Boyd in New Troy, MI. He joined the United States Army and was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division before being Honorably Discharged in 1960.

Dean enjoyed spending his time woodworking, bowling, playing euchre with friends, and the occasional trip to the casinos. He was an avid fisherman and spent many days at lakes or rivers. Dean enjoyed meeting his coffee group in the mornings at Olympus Restaurant in Bridgman, MI. He worked at Clark Equipment and after retirement took on odd jobs in the surrounding area helping out friends and family. Dean was a true family man and always made sure to be there to help them through any hard times. He loved being a grandfather and spending time with his grandchildren.

Dean will always be remembered by his wife, Georgia (Hampton) Boyd; children, Sonja (Jim) Colegrove, Todd (Sharon) Boyd, April Boyd, Sonja (Mike) Richcreek; grandchildren, James (Natalie) Colegrove, Andrea (Shawn) Grey, Jennifer (Joe) Mascher, Stephen Colegrove, Jessica (Justin) Pullins, Desiree (Cory) Schiller, Cody Wiggs; great-grandchildren; Xavier Colegrove, Austin Colegrove, Constantine Colegrove, Hayden Grey, Alina Grey, Isabelle Grey, Hannah Mascher, Caleb Mascher, Emily Mascher, Vivian Pullins, Lainey Pullins, Murphy Schiller, Avery Schiller; siblings, Barb, Jeanine, Bill, Al, and Don. He was preceded in death by his parents.
